From Silence to Confidence — The Inspiring Journey of Rizwana Naz

The Success Story of Rizwana Naz

There are moments in life when the world feels too vast, too loud, and too distant. My name is Rizwana Naz, and for a long time, this was exactly how life appeared to me—a place where my voice was too soft to be heard, and my steps too uncertain to move forward.

I grew up in Lahore, and my early education took place in a Special Education School, a world where I learned Braille, discipline, and quiet perseverance. Among children like myself, everything felt familiar and safe. But the moment I found myself among “normal” children, my silence grew louder, my confidence shrank, and conversations became mountains too steep to climb.

I knew words, but I did not know how to speak them. I had dreams, but I lacked the courage to claim them. And for years, this silent struggle lived within me.

🌼 A New Dawn — Entering Inclusive Education

Life changed the day I stepped into Lahore College for Women University. For the first time, I was placed in an environment where inclusive education wasn’t just a concept—it was a living reality.

The classrooms were filled with bright faces, confident voices, and busy footsteps. At first, I carried the same fear: How will I talk? Will they understand me? Will I ever fit in?

But something magical happened.

The girls around me became more than classmates—they became my guiding hands, my supporting voices, my companions in learning.

Whenever a difficulty appeared, someone stepped forward before I even asked. They helped me with assignments, taught me forgotten lessons, prepared me for tests, read out what I couldn’t see, and included me in their world with warmth that I had never experienced before.

Slowly, the silence inside me began to melt.

Within just two years, I learned what I had not learned in the previous ten. My voice returned. My confidence began to bloom. I laughed more, spoke more, and believed more.

🌱 Becoming Who I Was Meant to Be

After completing my intermediate education, I entered university life with newfound hope. There, inclusive education embraced me once again.

As I pursued my BS Honours degree, I learned far more than academic knowledge—
I learned the art of communication,
the beauty of teamwork,
and the strength of self-belief.

I discovered that fear dissolves when people accept you. Confidence grows when society trusts you. And dreams flourish when you are allowed to stand among others, not outside them.

🌟 Today — A Confident Lecturer

And today? I stand tall—as a lecturer in a college—teaching with confidence, speaking without hesitation, and inspiring others with the very strength I once lacked.

I face my students not with fear, but with pride. I communicate openly, I work passionately, and I shine with a confidence born from inclusion, not isolation.

If I had remained in special education alone, I would never have discovered this version of myself.

Inclusive education did not just change my learning—it changed my life.

🌍 My Message to the World

I say this with a full heart and absolute conviction:

“Every child deserves equal space, equal opportunities, and equal respect.”

Whether in studies or in play, whether in communication or in confidence—children grow stronger when they grow together.

Inclusion builds friendship.
Inclusion builds trust.
Inclusion builds bright futures.

And my success is living proof that inclusive education has the power to transform silence into speech, fear into confidence, and a hesitant girl into a proud lecturer.

Today, I share my story with pride—because this is not just my journey. It is a message, a hope, and a reminder:

Inclusive Education is Not a Choice — It Is a Necessity
